Contact us
How long will it take to make my cover?

As everything is bespoke and made-to-order there is no set lead time, however, once we have given you a quote and acquired all other necessary information, we can tell you how long it will take us to make and deliver your product.

How much do your products cost?

All of our products are made-to-order so there is no set price for any of our products. Our sales team will complete a thorough enquiry with you and using that information our sales supervisor or the managing director will cost your product for you and email you a detailed quote.

Do I get to see a design of my product before it’s manufactured?

Yes, our expert design team will draw up your design using our latest CAD programme, allowing you to view images of your desired product in 3D, request modifications and approve the designs before your project is manufactured. Your unique design is also be kept on file in case you ever need a replacement, saving you time and money in the future.

Am I too far for you to make a product for me?

We can make and supply covers for anywhere, but depending on how far away you are there can be a cost implication if you require a measuring service. For example, in areas like Scotland.

Can you repair a product made by you/not made by you?

Yes, we can repair your canvas cover whether it’s made by us or not. We require repair jobs to be booked in, before visiting Canvasman to establish whether or not the cover is salvageable.  If it is, we will require your product to be clean and dry before we can repair it. For repairs, we work on an hourly rate of £46.20 + VAT. The time required to complete the job will determine the final fee.

If you’d like to make an enquiry and book our repairs service, please email sales@canvasman.co.uk or phone 01943 851 444 with the details and a member of the team will get in touch with you.

How do I keep my cover clean and waterproof?

It is crucial to maintain a regular cleaning schedule, ideally conducted twice-yearly – one session before the cruising season and one session at the end of the season, for your Canvasman cover to last as long as possible.

Please visit our Product Aftercare page for more information on how to maintain your canvas cover.

How long do your products last?

Our products are extremely long-lasting with some fabrics lasting a minimum of eight years and a maximum of more than ten years. On top of that, all our products come with a five-year guarantee, to ensure that we trust the durability of all our covers.

Do you offer a measuring service?

Yes, we do offer a measuring service for our covers. If you are looking for a boat cover such as a narrowboat cratch hood, we must measure your boat for you, using our proliner. This is because it is the only way to get a 100% accurate 3D measurement of the curves of the boat, however, not all our products require our measuring service. For example, if you’re getting side panels for your gazebo, you have the option of us sending you detailed instructions on how to measure your gazebo yourself.

Can Canvasman covers withstand British weather?

We use extremely durable fabrics: most of which are heavily water-resistant, apart from one that is waterproof and a few upholstery fabrics incompatible with bad weather. Our covers can withstand British weather (except snow loading) however we do recommend you not leaving them out all year round, to extend the life of your cover as long as possible.
