About Us

The Canvasman Story

Chris Salisbury founded Canvasman in 1996 from a tiny cellar in his Victorian terraced house in Leeds. The company has grown since then from a one man band to a dedicated team of skilled designers, cutters, sewers and fitters. We are based in the charming Yorkshire town of Baildon. In 2015 we won the ‘Best Company Culture’ award at the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region business excellence awards.

As well as boat covers, we also design and manufacture shade sails, shop canopies, vehicle Covers and much more. We are now able to offer a full refit and upholstery service to complement our covers. We can offer a wide range of fabrics and designs.
